There was this psychology guy named Erich Fromm, he viewed photography as a something connected to necrophilia.

The necrophile, lacking the necessary qualities to create, in his impotence finds it easy to destroy because for him it serves only one quality: force.“

The idea is that photo takes something alive and transforms it into dead picture cut out of context of life itself. And people who are obsessed with photos basically are necrophiles, because instead of appreciating moment of life they are worshiping dead photos.

And now look at all these fake, photoshopped, filtered photos on instagram, castrated of imperfectness of life; made to deceive poor souls into thinking that all those people have somewhat perfect or at least great life/looks/relationships/social status/wealth.
