Time travel is not possible because time is an epistemological construct utilized to comprehend the ontological movement of matter.
There has only ever been one “time,” as it were, which is “now.” Ontologically, the circumstances of now now are different from what they were “1,000 years ago,” because that is the degree of ontological change.
Einstein’s Theory of Relativity is merely an observation that perception of light is relative to the observer, and that one’s concept of time is similarly relative. This relativity is rooted in the fact that time is an epistemological concept, which, unlike light, cannot exist without an observer.
Time is a mathematical tool, nothing more, like the square root of negative one, but less ridiculous.
That's true if we're in base reality. But my thought was that if this is a simulation, then the impossibility of time travel could be some engine level rule that's used to prevent players in base reality from cheating. If Hitler was a player in base reality, the simulation creator didn't want him to be able to load an earlier save after he lost WW2.
Apologies; for I almost invariably post without regard to the topic at hand. Used to be very attentive to the cooperative effort of communication, decades ago, before every BBS or newsboard or newsgroup or chat board was murdered for exchanging truth. Will attempt to be more attentive, having gone savage. Was always what Hesse called a Steppenwolf, but have a tendency to go feral, beyond the usual alienation.
As far as this being a simulation, it is certainly scripted by committes of people with substandard intelligence who believe their numbers make them smart, but interact and decide via votes, so invariably side with the lowest common denominator, then slide gradually into torpor and ultimately chaos.
As one trained basically to function as a psychic assassin and/or post-apocalyptic assistant to the restoration of humanity, I have found an interesting thing about far sight as it relates to matters and events of the past; effectively, that they are as clear yet less malleable than matters and events of the present.
This is a huge part of why folks who worship false gods via sacrificing living beings fall under the delusion they are holy when they are actually unholy. Has to do with their incapacity to sense the living God from within, and mistake memories of injury to the Seven Spirits of God in the past or present as divine knowledge. These monsters should rot in the street. But I digress.
If you do find the reload button, please do tell. There was a day when I was a tween that I desire to have as my Groundhog Day.
There is a reload button.. not sure if it works. Quantum Immortality. Have to kill yourself to find out (or not find out). Like in game, do you respawn or not?
Nice pompous speech
It's too bad in practice you're wrong, one can access information from the future, that's just the way it is
Sauce: empirism
Time is a vagary of perception.
GOoh! Neat phrase!
My right eye has gone blind because I seem to be looking at it from behind it. Creepy AF.
Perception is really like a freakin illusion.
Inclined to reread Heidegger’s Being & Time.
