“Ball theory” has nothing to do when eclipses are predicted. They and other celestial events are predicted based upon when they have happened in the past. You could say the earth were dildo shaped and still be able to predict eclipses. Well, *you* couldn’t, and *I* couldn’t.... but the shape of the earth is irrelevant to that.
