Exactly but is it being pushed to get the masses to stop thinking how their governments fucked them over?
The media will hype things up just to increase their viewership. But when people are scared or focused on death, they become more accepting and supportive of authority.
There's a power struggle going on right now, and the authority figures want as much public support as they can get. At least that's how it looks to me.
I can see that. We get immediately hit by "oh no, meat shortage!" but I've heard of states not considering food production as essential business, unions and community organizers pushing the closing of plants and offshore seafood ships not running or being allowed to run. It all seems too convenient and well placed and timed. Instill fear, instill hopelessness and then wait for the peons to beg for help.
