Today I just woke up and I felt so black. More than usual, actually. YOu see all my life I felt different, like I didn't belong like I wasn't really who I was. LIek I was being oppressed all this time because I was different, for no goo reason!
And yesterday, i heard, I was talking to this lady she was talking about how it matters what you feel on the inside. She said she had a penis but that doesnt make her a man!
And then I thought about what she said, real hard. I tried to pick it apart and find flaws, just accepting yourself and being who you feel you want to be is not bad. I realized, WOW!!! SHE'S Right!!!
So today I woke up and I decided to come to terms with who I really am , BLACK and I dont care what people say because theyre just bigotted and they dont understand me. Just because I look white doesnt mean I am white because thats not what I identify as due to the fact I never internalized a white identity.
I mean heck, whats teh big deal anyway? We ALL come from Africa!
