Haven't had any drink in years. I just don't see a reason to have isopropyl in my medicine cabinet.

Buying even cheap vodka has to be a lot more expensive than simply buying an actual sanitizer. I don't get it.

I am not an alcoholic. Why would I want poison added to the alcohol? That is the reason I don't buy the isopropyl. Alcohol is what I want in the bottle, not Alcohol and some other shit to kill people.
Isopropanol is an alcohol, just a different kind than ethanol. They have the same effect when used as a disinfectant. If you're not drinking it, it shouldn't matter.
I wouldn't suggest something like Butanol unless you enjoy the smell of vomit, but it will still do the job.

My stepdad used to drink everclear regularly. Not sure how he could do that and not die.
It's not really made for drinking straight. It's for mixing while minimally altering the taste of whatever you're adding it to. Hence why it's called a neutral grain spirit.
I did shots of it once in college and it burned my throat. Felt like I had a sore throat for 2 weeks.
You take 3 or 4 drips and let the permeate your tongue and mouth. A shooter glass is about 6 or 8 sips.
Same for good moonshine. Do not try and drink faster or you will fry your throat.
