The book burnings were also an annual, symbolic event. It was not an actual attempt to censor or hide information, as it is portrayed.
They did it every year. And it wasn't just books they burned. It was a cultural ritual of sorts. A new tradition being formed. It symbolized cleansing and renewal. Out with the old, to make room for the new. Burning away the rot, so something better may grow in its place.
That's why all the photos show crowds standing around a burning pile, often saluting. They made an event of it.
That's not something you do if you're just systematically censoring and destroying information. It just wouldn't make sense. You wouldn't have time for that shit. And you wouldn't want to draw attention to the things you're looking to censor. You'd just quietly make them disappear. As we see so often today. Deplatform, defund, discredit, distort. That's how you mass censor ideas.
And that's exactly what The Allies , and to manipulate future generations by taking control of education. This continues to this day.
Some people are too stupid to be allowed to reason. They’re too easily swayed you have to hammer them down to make them useful
Free writing and then burning it is an anger management exercise. Casting some bullshit you used to buy into onto a huge pile of fire would probably also be cathartic.
