I think any sane person does, even more so, if they have loved ones and children. However, the powers that be may not give a shit about us.

Agreed. As a new father myself I surprise even myself what I'm willing to do for our family. I left a job I love to make more money and get benifits. I never thought I would. But it turns out, I really do give a shit.
