Why have I never had a Radon System in any home I've ever lived in?

wow i had no idea. how is it even generated? like if you have no air circulation would it accumulate naturally?

edit: never mind https://www.epa.gov/radiation/where-does-radon-gas-come

This randon gas hocum is in line with the Erin brokovich story. A lot of fear porn with no science to back it up. Another rant you can get me going with is asbestos and vermiculite insulation. Trace amounts in some vermiculite that should up about as accurately as COVID-19 with a PCR test, yet any positive result means your screwed in paying for bull shit abatement.

It's only fear-inducing if you're unable to take practical action or lack emotional regulation. Healthy people feel fear about legitimate things and take reasonable action if the danger is worth addressing.

And the whore lawyers that have made a mockery of the intent of many laws along with the corrupt judges are steering many of these frivolous legal pursuits.

More pseudoscience behind the "radon" claims. There are places in the world that run a business around radon spas (as in, you rent time in a natural radon cave).

As for not hearing about the systems, radon will only ever be found in homes with basements which are pretty much only found in northern "flyover" states. Certainly NOT along the coasts where the vast majority of the population lives. I don't personally care about radon (grew up with it, closing in on 6 decades and don't have any health issues from my 18 years of spending most waking hours in the basement of a house that tested fairly high with radon in 2009 when my folks sold), but put it in to prevent the Karen buyers from having their hissy fit over it.

You can win at Russian roulette as well, doesn't change the odds.

Strange the home I am buying on the country is ranch style and has a Radon System for some reason.

You also have wookie levels of chest hair?

You can test the radon levels of your house for pretty cheap.

I just put down one in my current house, the one I am considering buying has a Radon System.

The property I just bought has a Radon System in it, but the fact that it needs one is a bit annoying but I think its quite common. My sensor puts my levels lower than the national average so it should be alright.

And for those with a geiger counter, you can (or rather, its decay products). One key point is that you must run air through it for a couple of hours, then measure immediately, as some decay products have a half-life in minutes.
