I got plenty of migraines as a child and young adult. The typical pulsing pain in the front of my head above one eye, sometimes both. Later in life they became visual disturbances that subsided into a migraine. Often now they are accompanied by nausea and dizziness. Lately, for the first time I had one in my sleep. I was conscious of it, (perhaps I had woken up) though I continued or fell back to sleep for several more hours. Woke with pretty bad nausea. Collapsed on my way back from getting a bucket, was too dizzy to get up and threw up (in the bucket, fortunately). That was fun.

Anyways, today I found out these headaches have a name. Scintillating scotoma, who knew? (rhetorical)

Does anyone else here get these type of headaches?

Occular migraine? I get them too. Fucking horrible going blind with all your senses fucked.

You ever had one that didn't come with a headache? First time it happened to me I thought I was going blind. Had a little red dot at the center of whatever I was looking at. If I focused on something too long it would start to grow. Other than some dizziness, I felt completely fine otherwise. Weird shit.

I have turned my color vision off by staring intently at something, was zoning out looking at the lawn and it went grey. My blindness is always accompanied by headaches, i get the blindness before the headaches though and often just go straight to bed when it starts if i can. Worst part is trying to describe it to people and them not getting it, like when it happens at work and you try to explain to your boss you are going blind and cant see.
