That show was seriously one of the most f’d up things I’ve seen. Read that it was born from a improv trope’s skit. And the first episode wasn’t even meant for kids.

I can definitely see how it came out of an improv trope having been in one myself. It looked like a live action play / visual of one of the more messed up things that can come from it.

Surprisingly (absolutely floored) I didn’t see any pedophile etc symbolism in the show!

Larry Fishburn played Cowboy Curtis. The show was full of wordplay that was fun for kids but occasionally had an adult second interpretation. Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo wrote the music. The lady who delivered the mail later starred on her own TV series. The show was a very odd moment in television.

Right, oops. I think I remember a story about Phil being the genie in the pilot or something but maybe I'm wrong.

Phil Hartman was a different character, the hard boiled reporter I want to say..
