Study population This study was approved by the Tri-Service General Hospital Joint Institutional Review Board. Between 2002 and 2013, 47 patients with a diagnosis of acute myocarditis at a tertiary medical center in Taiwan were enrolled in a retrospective medical records review; patients under the age of 15 years were excluded.
