The old testament is in fact, a contract which we are not bound to anymore. That's why we have the new testament. We are under a new contract that says if we believe the teachings of Jesus Christ, and also that he died and rose again after death for our sins, we are saved. Hell was never meant for humans. Some will inevitably end up there it seems. There's been too much permanent damage done to the human race, plus the knowledge of both good and evil, makes it impossible to be perfect in God's eyes. Since God never breaks his own rules, he sent a savior to die in our place. All we have to do is love thy neighbors and repent from wicked ways as best we can, and will be judged by how strong the faith and repentence are.

Define "hell".

I can't define something that doesn't exist yet, except to say that it is intended for the angels that fell.

That's Tartaros. I only mention it because the popular conception of "hell" is straight out of Dante, and any Bible with shoddy enough translation to even use the term "hell" is conflating sheol, Gehenna, and Tartaros.

A parallel dimension where a soul gets sucked in

And you find this where in the Bible?
