The transfer from the grinder to the basket. Since the grinder also weighs the coffee I can't put the basket, which also doesn't fit under the grinder anyway, directly under where the grounds come out. Then a combination of the fine ground coffee and the aeration of the grounds as they go through the burr grinder means a nonzero amount of grounds turns into an aerosol.

Sounds like you have an overly engineered poorly designed product. I use a breville.

Or I just grind slightly too fine. If I went for drip grade coffee grounds I doubt I would get anything. Since it goes into a pour over/basket filter I go finer.

French press should have large grind. Pour over would want very fine. Which do u use

I have a cheap Cuisinart burr grinder still working fine after 18 years. It doesn't leak grounds, even espresso fine.
