looking deeper it appears that after season 2 (1995) ]director Kim Manners joined the team (he directed golem ep in season 4)
he directed a ton of episodes after that
this episode is from season 2. could explain something. they snuck it in because no one had ti-vo in 1994
even if someone noticed it in '94 -- what were they going to do? ICQ about it? kvetch on AOL chatroom?

Hmm good point. I'm still somewhat surprised they left it in as david duchovny is part jew. He either didn't really notice or he just didn't care.
