Do not forget! ... So here we have god talking to jews and saying they must be honest essentially, and right after he says "Remember what the Amalekites did to you", and "When the LORD your God gives you rest from the enemies around you" Which implies that, god allowed amalekites to do some bad stuffs here, for a reason...
