Years ago I was a Jackeroo and when out mustering we always had silverside sandwhiches for lunch. These were placed in our saddlebags. If those sandwhiches were not wrapped properly, you could guarantee the sandwhiches would be fly blown by the time we would stop for lunch.
Everyone got accustomed to opening the sandwhich and if maggots were present, to just wipe them off with your finger. Put the sandwhich together and bon apetite.
Otherwise we starved till dinner!
