Scrub through a movie with VLC versus mpv (as an example). mpv flashes keyframes rapidly as you move on the timeline. VLC lags (I assume because it wants to get the precise frame you would be on, rather than the nearest keyframe). Same for the older totem player (all of this under Linux).
