The likelihood of someone ever coming back from the wilful, cold-blooded murder of a baby is infinitesimal. It's rather similar to Epstein's blackmail. Once he had a celebrity on video raping a child...they were his pawn forever because they would lose everything if they ever turned away from that wicked path.
