These are all the flags I have modified. Not all of them have to do with hardening the browser. And some are already enabled/disabled by default but it doesn't hurt to have the flag explicitly set. I'll list the more important ones so you can copy them to the search bar.

Type chrome://flags into the address bar and hit enter.

Enable Ephemeral Storage is something you may or may not want to look into. Depending on how aggressive your tracking and fingerprinting settings are.

Okay so what about canvas? Sites can still canvas a machine even with fingerprint blocking. If it can really lock down a device, I'd use it.

You don't have to use anything. If you are using any chromium based browser just type chrome://flags into the address bar.

Nothing. No Tool, extension, browser, etc. can completely stop Canvas Fingerprinting. Brave does have some good ideas though.

These articles are older and it's no longer required to use the "Nightly" to get these features.

In Brave settings

  • Set HTTPS Everywhere to at least Standard
  • Set Trackers & ads blocking to Strict
  • Set Block fingerprinting to Strict

If you do put your settings on strict you should enable Enable Ephemeral Storage as I mentioned in the OP.

Brave allows for Global settings and per site settings. I suggest to set Block scripts to ON globally and only enable it for sites that you really need it.
