Tesla insures their own vehicles. I don't have one but there is literally a button in the app to "get insurance".

This is because a bunch of insurance companies already dropped a bunch of people for insurance for their teslas years ago.

The attacks are because these people don't have a single unique thought in their head and are doing as the cult instructs them to. The NPC's programming has been updated and the target is now "attack tesla".

One option is to post an insurance bond with the state and become "Self-insured". Some states are easier than others. The other option is to move the truck to another state and insure it there and just hope you don't get caught.

"I was driving in NY state because I work there but I live in PA". Might be a tough sell.
