Doesn't take a climate scientist to know or at least surmise that the polar vortex dip may directly corellative to the changing weather patterns associated with reduced infrastructure & transportation usage post global "pandemic" global shutdowns and that with less pollutants that normally have an albedo affect, in addition to progressive desalination of the Beaufort gyre and NAC coupled with the southern oscillation change while also entering a new solar cycle... it's funny that the biggest non human affects of covid is this unprecedented unpredictability of macro scale weather!
