Under S.B. 315, it is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail, to employ 18- to 20-year-olds at any sexually oriented business.

Is 18 the age of majority or not?

You can argue that it isn't moral, but I have always thought these laws are silly. You're an adult BUT, you can't drink, smoke, gamble, own a pistol, or dance naked!

They want an infantile population. If they keep pushing back the age of "adulthood" then they keep people from developing critical thinking skills or understanding of consequence and long term planning skills.

This leads to a dependent populace that can't understand why their impulsive actions are damaging them. They can't fight back because they dont know what to fight about beyond their own immediate satisfaction.

That is an interesting take.

It takes 10-20 years to fully develop those skills, and the later we start the longer it takes.

Take a 12 year old from 1921, and a 12 year old from 2021.

That 12 year old from 100 years ago was probably working or about to start working. Unless they were "privileged" even if they were schooled it was basic primary education. They had responsibilities and needs to take care of from a young age. They had expectations of them. Their still developing minds had time to learn and grow while still developing. By 25 when your adult brain basically finishes forming, they had a decade of dealing with the real world.

Now imagine if we take a person and give them no responsibility until their brain is solidified. What now? They will never have the same capabilities as the person who was allowed to struggle young. It's a physical difference. The same difference that makes learning a second language infinitely harder as an adult.

It's science.

I never thought about it like that. Makes complete sense.

The 12 year old from 100 years ago probably also spend the majority of their day around adults. The average 12 year old of today spends most of their day surrounded by other children and women in a profession with the lowest IQ.
