May I ask your opinion on whether you think wind farms actually do anything? I have 1 house that has over 1k fans in a 30 mile radius and power costs only went up for all electric companies even though supposedly 1 full rotation supposedly supplies 15-26 houses with 24 hours of electricity. I know it's a scam for many reasons, but it's one rabbit hole that I have always had trouble with finding much information on.

Just wanted your take on it if you have time.

A wind farm in Wyoming might, but the farms in Texas sit idle most of the time. If you have land and put one as a complement to solar and have a few batteries, I suppose it would help. To put a third of Texas' power on it is asinine though.

Nope. That's not how the electric grid works. There is no storage of the energy so it isn't possible to have the energy produced in a small time last for 24 hours.

Wind turbines do work, but wind farms overall don't. For a lot of time that a wind farm is in service, it is disconnected from the grid to meet power demands versus power supplies. The grid cannot be overloaded with consumption or overburdened with supply. It's a careful dance between supply and demand that is necessary to keep the grid and its equipment from being damaged and causing cascading failures. Same goes for solar farms and other intermittent and variable electricity generation methods. They get cut off the grid very often just to keep things safe and operational. It's a really bad idea to have so many wind and solar farms compared to coal, nuclear and natural gas powered conventional power plants. We need to go back and ditch this expensive and wasteful green bullshit.
