that right there is why i dont watch modern media. as retarded as it might sound, i download old movies and watch them, but i dont watch youtube anymore, unless its freetube or invidious. the ads are what drove me to this. i havent watched network tv in years. the last movie i watched in theatre was gravity, with sandra bullock. and i feel fine.
There are adblockers specifically for youtube. They work wonders, except for the "sponsored" stuff that's actually part of the video.

For browsers, you can use Adblock for Youtube, which comes in both chromium and mozilla flavors.
