I just use a fucking phone camera to scan documents. Good enough. But it sucks that HP, Canon, Brother et al cripple their devices like this.

I have an ancient scanner and printer - as in early 2000s - those beige, huge clunkers. It just sucks that the parts are starting to become harder to come by. I have them hooked up to a linux server so I don't have to worry about windows ditching drivers for them.
