Let's crowd fund a car company that just makes a good reliable vehicle. The model will never change and all parts will always be available. No Spyware. Open-source computer codes and the vehicle can be repaired anywhere. No stupid designs like you have to remove an engine part to do an oil change.

The last car I bought is actually 10 years OLDER than my newest car. The older car can be run with no computer controls. Fewer gadgets = fewer things to fail. In case you didn't know, all cars sold new in USA after 2012 have a black box so the insurance company can get out of paying easier in case of a wreck.

carmakers like BMW try to pretend that turning heated seats and other features into recurring subscriptions lowers the vehicle retail cost

That's a lie. So, if it actually did that and you keep your car too long, you get screwed anyway.

I will not subscribe to anything. I'll do without. In fact, I'll go back to buying the cheapest model they make. Then I'll add aftermarket accessories like I used to. I'll treat the car like basic transportation.

Now where did I park my 1973 Honda Civic again?

Does this mean when the heated seats, the radio, or whatever breaks that they are liable to fix or replace it?
