The folly of Americans' misplaced compassion is pretty evident in these types of situations.
I'm not sure why we ever made laws about walking in the road. If you aren't smart enough to avoid giant metal death machines, you probably shouldn't be getting second chances at life.

Isn't it funny how so often these days, our needless compassions just get in the damn way?
I wonder what inspired this tainted dynamic.

I wouldn't say that this article, or at least the subject in the context of protests/riots, has much to do with Americans and our sense of compassion. While I agree wholeheartedly that we (as a species) need to be more Darwinian in our outlook, this article was about whether people who encounter what could very well be a life threatening situation should be able to - or willing to - drive into people.

If you're in the car heading somewhere and Antifa / BLM / NFAC / whomever through up barricades in the road and potentially threaten your safety, should you barrel through them and deal with the legal consequences later?

No, I get that. I think my annoyance is that this situation was allowed to be brought up in the first place, and I argue that we got to this point due to misplaced compassion.

I would argue that the compassion was spoon fed into us in school, as yet another means to control us.
