debt free by the end of 2020 is the way I'm trying to go right now myself.

I have some credit card debt I have to take care of first, but my car is completely paid off then I'll only have a home payment at that point.

I can live without a phone because I can always get skype (IDK yet) and drop to a cheap internet plan that my home phone works within so that I can basically have my internet as my home phone and source of entertainment (even if it's just DIY type stuff using free software) alone at that point.

my plan (desperate times) - start at least

Phone - drop down to $2 a month if not $5 at most with a cheap skype (IDK yet what it will be exactly) type plan.

TV - don't have a tv and no cable at this point or hulu / netflix at this point. Got rid of everything.

Internet - drop down to $35 a month plan. Home phone sits within this.

$37-$40 a month for all 3 alone if not $27-$30 or so.

currently...

$105 ($70 internet / $35 phone) - no cable / tv

I have half gig (roughly) internet currently which is $70 a month - 450+ Mbps or 55+ MBps - internet speed. In a time of crisis I can drop down really fast though since no plan on either one.

By home payment, you mean home LOAN, right?

One option is to get a roommate / house-mate. They'll help you pay off your mortgage. Just keep it cash only, and never lodge the paperwork, so that if they turn out to be junkies, you can get rid of them quickly.

home payment each month would be paying my home loan.

I've thought about renting to others. I like having the extra space especially if I do start a business at some point. I've never had my own business and want to start one at some point. Something in the realm of a Christian / Catholic business, but I'd be a Christian / Catholic more or so myself as a businessman.

Starting a business is an extremely rewarding, and challenging thing to do - it's also one of the only ways that you can truly become wealthy.

That said. I'd strongly advise against mixing business with many other things. Businesses just don't work that way because there is money involved. There is a reason you don't hire friends, or do work for free.

My partner learned that the hard way, with her second business partner, and first employee. As a boss or business owner, your first responsibility is the survival of your business. As much as your business partners/customers like it when you're best buddies, they like you a lot more when they have a stable paycheck, or trading partner. There will be plenty of opportunity for charity later down the line.

What business plans or ideas do you have?
