Honestly, if you've got a good mechanic and absolutely believe that you have to look like you've got more money than a firm grip on reality, use ebay or some other auction site and buy someone's car that's been totalled by an insurance company. Put in the time and cash to fix it and you could establish that high priced look you want, without the massive drain on the bank account. Just make sure your budget can afford it and you've the time to spare to be involved in the repair of a car.
