Hey do you remember what it was like to use the internet in the 80's (boards) and 90's?
How's that compare to today? Even a chimp can use a phone, significantly more powerful than any Tandy2000 operator ever dreamed of having in their possession. They don't need to know how to do much of anything to use it besides touch pretty pictures. No one remembers phone numbers, addresses, most can't remember how they got to where they are because of using map programs, cashiers at nearly any register can't figure out how to give change back if they entered the wrong amount given, most can't use their brain to provide customer service because the computer or supervisor doesn't tell them approved for behaviors for every single circumstance. Empathy and appropriate human interaction behavior is slowly erasing. Hive mind programming has been achieved without an implant. Logic is few and far between utilized because you can click the all mighty Google and get your answer without needing to think.
People are becoming dumber because of tech. No digital skill is valuable when you turn the electricity off.
Climate control is the tech that has been dumbing down the population. That along with low child mortality rate is why people have high mutation load and intelligence is dropping.
The dumbing down has been happening for longer than you realize.
