The real psy-ops was from the Chinese, spreading disinformation about the virus to make people think it wasn't as deadly as it is. Because they knew it would kill the conservative elderly and fat Americans at much higher rates than the rest of the population. So we end up with social media posts denying the very existence of a virus, disinformation out the wazzoo about the vaccines, and the media/press/Hollywood/entertainment still distracting everyone from the real problems. A virus deadly enough to ruin the economies of western nations but not deadly enough kill a huge number of the world's population. The perfect combo.
