Public closed captioning is a law in Oregon or Portland, if there’s a TVon it must have closed captioning turned on. It’s stupid, they fought it but lost. Most places may have a few games or shows going at the same time muted but the deaf thought they were being left out. To top it off they claimed with the emergency broadcast system they wouldn’t know what to do in a disaster without closed captioning. That’s a federal law and has been in place for years. The message scrolls as the announcement is made. The funny thing is Hollywood and liberals put them in the protected clas shortly before covid. To receive an Oscar you must have a minority/gay/woman/deaf person as a secondary character and 30% of the cast and also the crew must be made up of the same groups. I think the blind should have to be included, that’d be hilarious.
