Jesus Christ, these leftists are stupid. They control the media, so they get to spout their idiocy on a daily basis. Fossil fuels are just energy sources, and they happen to be very good energy sources for a variety of reasons. They are abundant, easy to extract and process, and have high energy per unit of volume. They do no harm to the environment. The assertion that carbon dioxide is somehow harmful to the Earth is ludicrous. Just the opposite is true -- living things need as much CO2 as China and India can spew into the air. It is doing us all immense good, by increasing crop yields and greening desert regions.
