My understanding is these troops are deployed to protect federal buildings. That is a reasonable reason for activating them. However the MSM is making it sound like these troops are in the streets actively policing and that is why the "protestors" are so riled up.

It's almost cost over doing the right thing. Send in the troops and terminate the riots.
