Disposable medical masks (also known as surgical masks) are loose-fitting devices that were designed to be worn by medical personnel to protect accidental contamination of patient wounds, and to protect the wearer against splashes or sprays of bodily fluids. There is limited evidence for their effectiveness in preventing influenza virus transmission either when worn by the infected person for source control or when worn by uninfected persons to reduce exposure. Our systematic review found no significant effect of face masks on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza.

Ah... I see you're a doubter. If you'll just carry around this 5G equipped, permanently attached IV bag and pole, we can dose you whenever we deem a booster is necessary.

Another fun term I've been having fun Larping around with when I suspect the listeners have a chance of knowing who Orwell is is to describe masking, and barriers, and contact tracing, and vaxxing and (counter-vaxxing(?) - however you'd describe vaccines only "working" if all parties are "vaccinated") (sorry for all the scare quotes)

...anyway, as "earnestly as possible" claim to be thankful for all of it because it makes us "double plus safe". They know I'm taking the piss, but aren't usually sure which direction they can safely try to steer the conversation without me agreeing and amplifying.
