If the fire suppression was disabled or not up to code in that place then put someone in prison. I worked at a factory that used adhesive bonded to a car product, now the vapors which I worked in would get in the ventilation and we sometimes had tiny fires nightly and evacuated to the parking lot till the fires in the vents died out. Now never did a sprinkler ever go off or an alarm, just verbal leave now for the parking lot and we all smoked and waited for the bosses to let up back in and this was union shop even but nothing ever fixed the problem where venting the room independently where the fumes built up would have worked but cost money also.

No doubt the fire suppression was not on auto and the people in charge just waited to long and didn't dare allow the sprinklers to operate or the sprinklers were not charged.
