The entire point of the American tax system is that it's impossible to follow, so they can make anyone a tax cheat if they want to punish them.
You can't even ask the IRS how much you owe them, they respond that you have to know and send it to them.. or they arrest you and put you in jail.

I just throw a bunch of numbers into a calculator and then push minus that number and I say huh look at that!! The odds are in my favor again this year!!
