Yes, apparently you can voluntarily send extra money to the government to "help pay off the national debt".
How about... CUT SPENDING AND STOP SENDING MONEY TO OTHER COUNTRIES FIRST.
At one point in time (I think the Clinton era?) There was a law that required all programs/etc be funded before passing and you could not borrow more money for the funding. I think that was gotten rid of in the Bush Jr. Era? I could have those mixed up though.
