Matters because it emboldens them to continue overstepping their bounds.

Right. I don't buy into the reasoning behind the ban in the first place. So the whole thing is just silly.
Only thing I can think of is further setting precedent of government overreach. Nobody pushes back on this one since, as you pointed out, it’s happening anyway.
The next one, though - gas stoves, coal power plants,non-synthetic meat.
