You'd smell a gas leak though wouldn't you? I think it had to be a meth lab because the family wouldn't have left if that was the case. Some were probably intoxicated as well. Houses don't get gas leaks where nobody smells it and just is oblivious to it unless they're stupid. Who lit a cigarette? A joint, a stove top, a crack pipe? No way this was a gas leak. It's daytime too so nobody would have been sleeping or if so, able to ignite the gas.
