Because it’s already happening. Field strength is already dropping fast, I think it’s down 25% now, getting towards the vertical drop on the curve. The pole locations have been accelerating every year. As th field drops, so does the protection from solar flares, by mid 2030 expect one to wipe out all electronics on earth, and we’ll see how much of civilization survives that. When it flips, it’s the only thing holding our position in space, cue biblical stories, mirrored by ancient texts and drawings from around the world.
