Why are you allowed to buy Red Bull with food stamps? Because some bitchy liberal complained that it was dehumanizing they couldn't buy stuff like chips and soda and the junk food industry lobby ran with it because they saw free government money coming their way.

At the very least the program should work like WIC where only approved foods are allowable.

Sort of like what Trump was trying to force through.

No more free EBT debit card. You get a box of fresh fruits/vegies/etc shipped to you weekly that comes from local farmers and ranchers. No more soda/chips/candy with your EBT card.

There is a convenience store near me that has a "No EBT accepted" sign. I thought about it for a bit and I think I know why.. A particular group of people are far more likely to be on EBT than not.. They don't want those people at the store.

It should have never been allowed in the first place. I think it started going in that direction in the 90's. I remember people spouting garbage like "Even someone on assistance should be allowed an indulgence now and then, it helps improve mood and get them out of the slump"..

No. No they don't. That is the point. When you are on "hard times" you have to work HARD to get out of them. You do not get luxury's just because it will make you a little happier for a day or two while also furthering your goal of getting diabetes.

It is SUPPOSED TO SUCK to have to be on a social program. You are SUPPOSED to hate it and be working to support yourself.

Its only gotten worse over the years. I think there are even some fast food places that can take EBT/SNAP now. What the fuck.
