This socialist Ponzi scheme was never going to work. They knew it was never going to work. Now you have paid into it your entire life and won't see shit from it. Imagine what you could have invested in if that money was not stolen out of every one of your pay checks?

>Americans are increasingly alarmed that Medicare and Social Security will collapse by the time they retire, a survey shows. Some three quarters of adults are 'worried' or 'extremely worried' about losing state-funded healthcare for their golden years, says pollster Gallup. Four fifths of them are scared about Social Security imploding, says the survey.

Everyone who expected to get a dime from that scam is either a parasitical boomer or a moron. I look forward to seeing "muy Social Security" freeloaders living under a bridge because they saved nothing.

Don't expect the government or a company to "save" for retirement. Save for your self.

Some people will say "but I cant". Yes, you can. You just have to change how you live. It might suck, you might get sick of rice and beans. You might have 3 roommates or something but you can save and you can provide for yourself.

Saving for retirement is trivial. Even easier than you said.

1) Get a job you dirty hippy. You can easily save $20k a year starting at 16. Dont give me any "muy high school" excuse. Homeschool, finish your classes in 3 hours, go work.

2) Do that until you're 21 instead of majoring in Communist Transvestite Studies. You have a cool $100k in cash instead of $100k in student loans.

3) S&P 500 Index fund. Median 8% compounded ROI for 49 years. Congrats, you're worth $4 million by age 70.

Bonus: No STDs, your hair isnt blue, and you're set for retirement by the time your peers are getting drunk and playing grab ass at frat parties.

This. 100% over and over. This.
