Now we just need to remove all .gov subsidies and funding and let them sink or swim based on their own merits
Sorry to break it to you but the post office receives absolutely no subsidies from the federal government. Yes they are quasi federal government entity but only because the federal government is not allowed to actually own businesses. However all the money the post office gets come specifically from postage. Realistically most of their income comes from packages and packag delivery. Whenever you hear on the news on that big square television thing that spits out propaganda 24/7, it will tell you all the time that the post office is in dire straits and needs money. But the truth of the matter is up until a year or two ago the post office was required to provide for the retirement funds of people that aren't even born yet. This was done specifically to handicap the post office in order to hopefully privatize. The truth is Congress consistently steals money from the post office because the post office is not allowed to make profit. However if they just leave the money there the post office wouldn't be in the position that it's supposedly consistently in, much like social security.
I won't deny that the post office is being used and abused into assisting the powers that be to help steal elections. But that's about all the post office is really being utilized for in a negative aspect.
Yes, I can agree that the post office realistically could probably run 5 days a week with just delivering actual mail. Package delivery most likely would need 7 day a week as it currently stands because people hate waiting for their stuff. Amazon also seems to have a hold on the post office. They have a contract with the post office that the post office actually loses money on to guarantee that Amazon packages can be delivered in a timely manner. Because the post office is the only place that delivers to every single address every single day except Sundays. Some addresses are simply not deemed profitable for Amazon to deliver themselves. Or FedEx or UPS. The post office delivers packages from all three of those companies. Nobody delivers the packages from the post office except postal employees. Over the years the post office has dropped the ball in a few places where they could have profited off of but that's a whole different discussion all together. It wasn't too very long ago that the post office would give cheap affordable loans to citizens of the country. The big Banks stopped that.
The dei nonsense I won't argue with. But you can find that in practically every field not just the post office. It still doesn't negate the fact that it is absolutely written into the Constitution of the United States. And anybody that is willing to give up even a single right written therein is willing to give leeway to any of their rights. I refuse to give an inch.
> Lol! So .gov lies about everything but this. Got it.
I know people on the inside. Profits are consistently posted to those employees. Not once to my knowledge have they actually received money from the govt. Are you one of those people that actually believes what's on the boob tube? I thought everybody on this site knew better than that...
