Spoiler, This is probably "SOP". A lot of data has a archive limit and is dumped if it is not accessed after X amount of time.

I am intentionally keeping this vague to not self-dox.

Source: I worked in gov for far too long and managed a massive publicly available data archive that also had a SLA that were based on international treaties and had to write up reports if the archive was offline for too long that went directly to the presidents desk.

I can't speak for this particular archive since I never worked on it. Also, the Gov has been in talks with companies like Amazon for damn near a decade to move the archives into the "cloud" for "free" so Amazon (and I am sure google and microsoft) could sell access to the data if you were accessing it outside of their cloud. (build processing systems in their cloud, access is free, access it outside of the cloud and you have to pay for it). I thought it was corrupt as fuck and was pissed off about it. I quit that job a long time ago now.

Is it SOP or are the Dems cleaning up after themselves to avoid incrimination?

Any speculation on your part other than SOP?

Interesting nonetheless. The redditards are freaking out so that part is amusing. Not that means anything who knows what percentage are real compared to bots.

The data I worked on was very different than this dataset. I would not expect it to be "political".

If they are "cleaning up" things that might be used against them.. Well, that shit is supposed to have much longer retentions or require specific orders from on-high that would be recorded and documented for the exact data that is to be removed and the reason. It should be able to be FOIA'ed.

Oh, if you ask for a FOIA. Make sure to request for any "internal ticketing system, archive records, internal memo's and mail, chat history (they use google and have it not store history on purpose - In my opinion this is illegal), emails, etc".

If it's SOP, do you know if it happened during the Biden takeover or the original Trump takeover?

Also, I completely agree. Utilizing methods to conceal communications should not just be considered illegal it should be considered treasonous.

The data I worked with had that SOP since before obummer. No idea about this dataset though.
