I work at a hospital and I literally don’t know another person who knows it’s just fake. Even the ones I can talk about it with, they think it’s bullshit, they hate masks and stuff, but they still think it’s a real disease.
One thing I’ve noticed is that hospital employees tend to want to be a part of the “front line” to their friends and family, so they embellish their own experiences to make it seem as serious and intense as possible so that they can signal that they’re a part of fighting the pandemic or whatever. So they relay stories about patients they have heard of through a friend or heard a rumor about, but talk about them as if they actually know the patient and their circumstances.
And obviously doctors can’t say a single thing against all this if they work for a hospital. Not only would they be fired, but the hospital system would then engage in damage control and talk about how that doctor didn’t reflect their values, etc.
Basically it’s all rigged in the most perfect way so that everyone plays along. But we already both know that.
