For an advanced country Australia is a bit weird for their sweeping and simplistic authoritarian solutions to relatively simple problems. NSW just banning bikers a few years back struck me as a very East Asian rather than European solution to an issue. Is it the proximity to China that has led to these kind of things being seemingly acceptable in Australia?
