Unless they can prove that Fauci knowingly funded that research lab with the intention of it leaking, there is no case here at all and this is useless and wasteful political blustering.
It was a Level 5 lab: a breach is extremely unlikely. That's how it got the level 5 rating.
Fauci would have to have e-mailed or messaged someone, "I want this gain of function research done and I want there to be an accident" in one form or another for there to be ANY sort of case against Fauci.
