This has been the reality for Canadians for a little over a month. Employees dont have to have it, but customers who want to dine in at restaurants, use gyms, do any activities deemed "non essential" such as indoor sports events, weddings, etc MUST provide their paperword for their 2 shots and photo ID. This is against Canada's Charter rights and it kills me inside that Canadians find this shit ok. Some places that have refused to comply have had their liquor license taken, business license taken and fined. The rest comply in fear as if it will all go back to normal.
My favourite watering hole stated that they were so close to being shut down after 3 lock downs, that they will follow the mandatory guidelines and ask for passports to stay open. So the same people who kept you locked down for months, now imposed this and you learned NOTHING but to still follow their orders?
So sad.
